FAQ's

What is Nueflör?

Nueflör is actually a floor Protection System using BriStone®, an inorganic polymer alternative for interior and exterior calcium based flooring. BriStone® introduces boron silicates, an inorganic solid, to create a "protective shield" over the surface of the floor. Unlike a conventional coating, the boron silicates form an ionic bond and become an integral part of the stone, granite, marble, concrete, or other surface.

Is Nueflör a Coating?

The Nueflör Protection System is NOT a coating but a reactive product that changes the molecular structure of the floor surface. Once BriStone® product is applied to a surface it becomes an integral part of it while still keeping the inherent characteristics and integrity of the floor. BriStone® products do not limit the breathability of the surface allowing it to expand and contract naturally.

How long will Nueflör last?

Indefinitely, if the system is applied and maintained correctly. The Nueflör Protection System using BriStone® is the only product on the market with a lifetime warranty. BriStone® eliminates the need for any chemical cleaners, gloss maintainers, daily burnishing, deep scrubbing, and corrosive stripping.

How does the cost of Nueflör compare to conventional polymers?

Over the life of the product, The Nueflör Protection System using BriStone® is exceedingly more cost effective then a conventional polymer floor. BriStone® has no product waste, never needs to be stripped and reapplied, eliminates the need for daily buffing, requires no chemical cleaners, and comes with lifetime warranty.

Does Nueflör affect the integrity, color, or life expectancy of the floor?

Yes, The Nueflör Protection System using BriStone® will drastically improve the floor itself. The floor will be stronger, have more color intensity, and have an extended suface life expectancy. BriStone® also allows the floor to react naturally to changes in temperature and the elements and allow moisture to pass through it as if nothing was applied to the surface.

Is Nueflör susceptible to chemicals?

The Nueflör Protection System using BriStone® is chemically resistant to most common chemicals and compounds. BriStone® will resist surface etching and staining from wine, acid, ammonia, food products, and efflorescence, etc.

What are the benefits of Nueflör ?

A floor with the Nueflör Protection System using BriStone® will maintain a high luster without any daily or even weekly maintenance with these added benefits:

  • The floor will never be stripped again;
  • Your resource consumption (i.e. water, electricity, propane, etc.) will be drastically reduced;
  • There is no down time during the application process;
  • No chemical cleaners are required;
  • The floor can be walked on immediately;
  • Life expectancy of the floor is greatly increased;
  • You have labor savings on maintenance, etc.

Can I purchase the Nueflör Protection System at a local retailer or janitorial supply store?

No, the Nueflör Protection System using BriStone® is only available through a licensed and certified installer. Nueflör goes to great lengths to assure that your floor reaches its maximum potential by guaranteeing correct installation.

Is Nueflör compatible with conventional polymers?

No, all polymers must be removed prior to the application of the Nueflör Protection System. The Nueflör Protection System using BriStone® is designed to form an ionic bond with the surface. A conventional polymer creates a barrier stopping the bonding process. BriStone® is engineered to change color if there is any remaining polymer or residue on the surface to guaranty proper installation.

Can Nueflör be applied out-of-doors?

Yes. The Nueflör Protection System using BriStone® is perfect for interior and exterior applications. BriStone® does not stop expansion, contraction, or the surface from breathing allowing to be used in all exterior environments. BriStone® is also impervious to salt, oil, and other chemicals, limiting the risk of staining, discoloration, and precipitous deterioration of the surface.

Is Nueflör safe to be using in areas of food preparation?

Yes. The Nueflör Protection System using BriStone® does not contain any harsh chemicals, fluorocarbons, and because of the ionic bond, BriStone® cannot be released into the environment and has no off gassing.

Is Nueflör slippery?

No. Although the Nueflör Protection System using BriStone® has such a high gloss that people will assume the floor is wet, BriStone® exceeds all traction requirements of OSHA and the National Floor Safety Institute.

Is Nueflör mechanically resistant?

Yes. The Nueflör Protection System using BriStone® will outperform any polymer on the market for mechanical resistance. Forklifts, pedestrian traffic, pushcarts, vehicles, will not mar or scratch the surface.
